I am an Assistant Principal at East St. Louis Senior High School in East St. Louis, Illinois where I share in the leadership of roughly 1,200 students and 150 faculty and staff. I have worked several years in leadership and teaching capacities at the school and district level in both Downtown St. Louis, Missouri and East St. Louis, Illinois, resulting in culturally relevant instruction and positive student outcomes.
As a leader, I advocate for access to a quality education for all students through the influence of instruction, curriculum, assessment, data analysis, policy, and organizational leadership. I support teams by leveraging individual expertise, access, and resources in order to improve learning outcomes for students.
I have supported school, district, and state adoptions of learning standards, grants, and policies through collaboration and professional development and training for teachers, instructional coaches, principals, and district leaders. I have partnered with and leveraged resources from corporations, nonprofit organizations, and higher education institutions to ensure equitable education for students and meaningful work and program opportunities for faculty and staff.
